Josh block

Josh Block is a Michigan native, husband, father of two, speaker, company president, and leadership advocate. He believes that healthy leaders, thriving teams and fulfilling work carry remarkable power to transform people and families.

Josh's passion for business and leadership began early, selling strawberries door to door, pressing apples at a cider mill, spending school breaks with the family business, flipping burgers and waiting tables at Cracker Barrel.

Shortly after graduating from Taylor University with a Bachelor's in Business Management, Josh and his wife, Lacey, moved to the urban core of Muncie, Indiana, with dreams of investing in the community and raising a family. Recognizing that a steady job and stable income can change a life and family, they co-founded a service company and worked shoulder to shoulder with people in deep need of the provision and pride that only meaningful work can provide.  It was during this formative season of rehabbing homes, helping to launch a charter school, community development corporation and addiction recovery home that he began to understand the power of loving people in and through the world of work.

Midway through their time in Muncie, Josh shifted into a sales role in the family business and after nearly a decade, Josh and Lacey felt the strong call to relocate to Lansing, Michigan.  Three months after the move, at the age of 29, an unexpected series of events led to Josh being thrust from sales rep to president of a $30M organization with 50 team members over the course of a weekend.

Over the last 10 years, Josh has worked tirelessly to create a thriving team, high performance culture and a hearty "yes" to the question: What if we could create a place where . . .

People love to work?
Respect their leaders?
Appreciate their organization?
Enjoy the people they work alongside?
Are challenged and stretched to become more than they would've ever dreamed possible?
Parents go home energized and children grow up hoping to work at a place like their Mom or Dad work?

Josh comes to the stage as a practitioner first and speaker second, with the aim of equipping and encouraging leaders and teams in their attempt to create a thriving culture and leave a momentous impact in the lives of people.

When Josh isn't speaking, you'll find him in jeans and a t-shirt in the trenches with the Block Imaging team, at a horse show, coaching middle school basketball, or perfecting his world-famous homemade waffle recipe.

Josh is engaging, funny, and he gets us! He openly shares both his challenges and successes as a leader to make us all better. His use of multimedia during his presentations is gripping and makes you walk away with some very tangible tools. Trust me, you will go back and share this with your teams. The standing ovation at the end, says it all. Don’t miss the chance to see this great speaker.
