Katelyn Beaty

Katelyn Beaty is a Midwest native living in New York City, an oldest child, an INFJ / Enneagram 3w4, and editorial director for Brazos Press. But the most important thing you should know about her is that she loves words and believe they can change the world.

She first learned this as an undergrad at Calvin College, where she edited the student newspaper and genuinely looked forward to writing papers. After studying theology at Oxford University, she landed her first job at Christianity Today magazine in the suburbs of Chicago. She would go on to serve as the magazine's youngest and first female managing editor.

Katelyn has written for The New Yorker, The Washington PostThe Atlantic, and The New York Times on light topics such as politics, gender, and theology, and has commented on faith and culture for CNN, ABC, NPR, Associated Press, Religion News Service, and the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation.

When she's not doing all the things with the words, she enjoys exploring NYC, karaoke (post-pandemic, of course), FaceTiming with her nephew, international travel, and starting the day with the NYT Spelling Bee. Learn more at KatelynBeaty.com. Her new book, Celebrities for Jesus: How Personas, Platforms, and Profits Are Hurting the Church is out now
